Preach the Gospel of Jesus to All
Dear Friends and Fellow Believers,
As a fellow Christian, a follower of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a believer in the Holy Trinity, I write this open letter to all LGBTQ+ affirming churches, with a heart full of love and a desire for unity in our faith. It is my hope that this letter serves as an invitation for interfaith dialogue and encourages us all to examine our beliefs, actions, and commitments to the Gospel.
First, I want to commend you for your willingness to embrace, support, and affirm the LGBTQ+ community. Jesus taught us to love one another, and your openness demonstrates a commitment to living out this commandment. I wonder, though, are we truly loving our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters by affirming their lifestyle choices, especially when the Bible speaks to the contrary?
As Christians, we believe that Jesus came to save us from our sins, offering forgiveness and the promise of salvation. But, can we truly accept this gift if we continue to embrace a lifestyle that Scripture describes as sinful? Is it possible to reconcile the love and acceptance we offer to the LGBTQ+ community with the teachings of the Bible?
We must ask ourselves, “What does it mean to love someone?” Does love mean supporting and affirming their choices, even if they go against God’s Word? Or does true love involve guiding them toward a life that aligns with God’s will, even if it’s challenging and uncomfortable?
In the Gospel, Jesus consistently calls us to repentance and transformation. He loves us so deeply that He does not want us to remain in our sin. As a community of faith, how can we best convey this message of love and redemption to our LGBTQ+ congregants?
The call to action for all churches, including LGBTQ+ affirming churches, is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their congregations. How can we effectively share the Good News with our LGBTQ+ community members, ensuring they understand God’s love and the path to salvation?
Furthermore, how can we foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages open dialogue, spiritual growth, and personal transformation for all members of our congregation, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity?
As a community of faith, we must strive to uphold Biblical truths while still demonstrating love and compassion for our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. How can we balance these two responsibilities in a way that brings glory to God and draws people closer to Him?
I hope this letter serves as a starting point for meaningful conversations and reflection on these important questions. I am eager to hear your thoughts, insights, and experiences as we navigate the challenging waters of faith, love, and LGBTQ+ affirmation.
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you as we continue to grow in our faith and work together to share the Gospel with all people, regardless of their background or identity.
In Christ’s Love,
Gospel Narrative
